N Scale 100-Ton 3-Bay Hopper - Rock Island (4pk) Road numbers #700118, 700324, 700665, 701237 Built in 1978 by Greenville Steel Car Company, this 100-ton, 3-Bay open hopper with Barber Roller Bearing trucks was painted blue with the large Route Rock logo. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad was founded in 1852 and by the 1970s had over 10,000 miles of track. It entered multiple bankruptcies and failed buyouts in the 1970s, and by 1980 was liquidated.
