J. Burke Filling Station - Laser-cut Kit
J. Burke Filling Station - Laser-cut Kit
This tiny station was a standard design developed in the 1920s, and built in various parts of the country. Typical of the times, they only sold gas and oil, but some later added a garage in the 1930s to handle repairs, and many have survived the years as home to a wide range of other business ventures.
The model features laser-cut basswood walls with laser-etched brick details, laser-etched slate shingles, laser-cut windows, doors, and trim; all with peel-and stick backing for easy assembly and painting. The kit also includes a pavement base with sidewalks and etched cracks and joints, a fence with advertising and a billboard with your choice of four vintage signs. Lead-free metal castings are provided for three vintage gravity-feed gas pumps with separate hoses you can customize, three vintage gas station street-side advertising signs, two oil highboys, a vintage air compressor and a garbage drum with a stack of boxes. Complete directions include photos and diagrams for easy step-by-step construction.
